Hi everyone. I made a tool that makes the map of your own server, with your MLOs, changed terrain and added islands on it.

FxMapGenerator photographs your server’s world from inside the game and turns it into a detailed satellite map and an atlas map drawn from the actual terrain and roads. It exports them as the in-game minimap and as a web map. It is a Windows app: one exe, nothing to install. Free and open source (MIT).

What you get

• Your server as it is today. The maps are made from the world the game shows while it is connected to your server, so Cayo Perico, Roxwood and other added islands are on them too.
• Three kinds of maps. A satellite map, an atlas map (ground types, water depth, buildings, roads, street names, zone names, postal codes) and a road map.
• A web map too. Besides the in-game map, the app exports 256 px tiles, a viewer that opens straight from the disk, and an example entry for lb-phone.
• Editors. Change the atlas map’s colors, line widths, text and fonts while watching a preview. Draw the roads and bridges of an MLO that ships no road data. Put markers on the map.
• PSD and SVG. Write a map as a layered file, work on it in Photoshop, GIMP or Inkscape, and turn the edited picture into the in-game map and the web map.
• Updates. After adding an MLO, retake only the blocks there. The maps are made again only where they depend on them.

How it goes

1. Run the exe. The screens open in your browser. The app runs on your PC only (127.0.0.1).
2. Make a project and choose the maps to make.
3. Put the capture resource into your server’s resources (it comes inside the app), start FiveM and join the server.
4. Press Run. The app drives the game, captures and scans the ground and the roads block by block, and goes on to make the maps. The game is needed only for the capture.
5. Export, put the in-game map resource on your server, and host the web map’s tiles.

Before you start

• You need a Windows PC with GTA V and FiveM. The whole map takes about 40 minutes to 2 hours 20 minutes, and the game is busy all that time.
• While capturing, every vehicle and NPC on the server is deleted, and the capture refuses to start while anyone else is on the server. Use a time when nobody else plays, or a copy of the server.
• The player who captures needs the permission command.fxmapgen (admins usually have it).
• It has been tried on Qbox and QBCore servers.
• Everything you need is listed in the README.
